My period is back!

Welcome to my first blog as a mum! :)

And yes, today is the day after 831 days of summer.

My husband and I always joked that I might be going straight from having a baby to menopause, which I would love very much. No more blood stain. No more stomach pain.

I breastfed my baby girl, Laufey, since the day she was born up till now. Of course, the road was not paved with roses. The first few days were brutal. Even the first few weeks. But it was like a magic. I think Laufey knew what she wanted. She wanted fresh mummy's milk! She tried. She helped. And she made it happen.

People were saying that, in most or many cases, as long as mum keeps on breastfeeding, the period won't come. Obviously, that was another myth - yet the one that I did not mind holding true to my heart without doing further research.

My obstetrician also told me (in a warning tone) during one of the follow-up checkups that even though the period wouldn't arrive, the second baby would still be able to manage to come somehow if any sextual intercourse is performed. And I was like, ha-ha, no worries doc. All my husband (assumingly) and I wanted for Christmas is a deep pillow and tranquil night sleep.

Well, the tranquility did not come easy at all despite how deep our pillows could be.

I love to breastfeed my baby so much. I felt so close to her. My favourite post is lying in bed together and sleep hugging each other.

Many doctors and books do not recommend feed-to-sleep. But she likes it and I like it. So, we allow our free wills to go against this common rule.

Then, I always wondered how long I would be able to enjoy the blissful state of period-free. The moments I could bath with my baby so freely and had to only worry about the baby's nappies.

Now I know.

831 days of summer.

Though to me, they were 831 days of winter as winter is my favourite season of the year and I have already started brainwashing my baby with all sorts of Christmas songs every night already since before Halloween.

My peruod is back!

A lot like puberty.

(According to my new best friend, ChatGPT, counting from the clinical Day 1 of pregnancy on 28th July 2022 although I actually realised I might be pregnant by using the home tester on 1st September 2022, today is Day 831.)
